My husband and I are Senior Citizens. We are no longer able to take care of our small garden - 20x20 feet. We are looking for someone who can put it to use, and also help weeding a flowerbed.
My girlfriend and I are moving to Inglewood and are looking for some available land to SPIN Farm, we want to see just how much food we can produce in one summer. I have taken my PDC course, a soil course(lots of composting info) and a SPIN Farming course as well. I like to spend most of my spare time in the soil and experimenting with things to push Calgary's climate.

I am married and have a 12 year old son. We all love growing plants and flowers. We have used the city garden plots in the past but they are not well maintained and we had a great crop of quack grass. Our plants had a hard time getting through the roots. We tilled it a few times and hoe'd and raked numerous times but still struggled. We grow a variety of flowers at home as well as rhubarb, strawberries and saskatoons. We have recently signed up for the city composting program and will attend a seminar on composting May 31. My son has been verma-posting for 3 years now.

I am a pragmatic outdoors person with anarcho-primitivist beliefs. I want to live simply and thrive using nature's gifts. I am not a flaky mystical hippie by any means. I grew up on a farm, with minimal technology, and I have learned over the course of my 36 years that I am healthier and happier without the hum of traffic or electrical devices. I need green spaces and clean air.
Hi. We are two practical people who would love to grow our own food and build a home where there are more trees than people. We have a wealth of knowledge and motivation, and lack the financial means to purchase land at this time. We need a few acres to garden and raise animals, and much adjacent space to wander. Solitude and limited access is ideal, as long as there are like-minded people within a day's walk, but not within hearing.
Spring is in the air Calgary style, and it's time to start planting - how exciting... I am lucky enough to have a large, sunny yard in the vicinity of Peter's Drive-In. I have 2 spots people can use... Firstly, I would like to develop the south-facing front yard and explore the option of getting rid of the lawn altogether and doing a combo flower/shrub garden with some edibles mixed in. In the back there is lots of sun too, as the yard is large enough to get east, south, and west exposure. Here I have thought about allowing someone to build raised beds for edibles, and perhaps even a greenhouse. I am open to possibilities. And as a big lover of bees, I welcome beekeepers to this garden. You must be dog-loving (I have a small and friendly dog named Mister).... too small to get into raised beds :0) Open to dialogue.... I managed to just get a house on an acre and am looking to share the land and expenses with other plant people and people wanting to live less expensively My approach is veganic and fertility will not be an issue. Fast Small area, valuable, labour intensive things like greens and peas, and beans for market are good winners. I can offer knowledge,direction and independence for those wanting to learn.
