Je suis bilingue. I am bilingual. J'ai de l'espace à partager, et je suis aussi intéressée à aider d'autres personnes avec leurs projets, question de varier mon expérience. Je suis intéressée par l'agriculture bio, permaculture, hugelkultur. Jardins mix de fleurs et légumes et fines herbes. J'ai un peu d'espace dans ma cour, et je pense à agrandir certaines parties. Je voudrais aussi faire pousser des choses verticalement, contre les clôtures, avec des trellis et tours, etc... J'ai mon petit compost, et je fais du vermicompost aussi. ------- I have space in my backyard, AND I am interested in helping out with others' projects for variety. I'm interested in organic agriculture, permaculture, hugelkultur, etc. I like the idea of mix gardens (edible landscaping, forest gardens, etc). I have a bit of space in my backyard, and I am thinking of making a few beds bigger. I'd also like to use more vertical space,on fence, trellises,etc. I also do my own compost, and vermicompost.

I am a recent graduate of Carleton University, possessing a public policy degree with a focus on sustainability in energy, food, and transportation. Further to this, I have a mechanical engineering background. I have experience working on a variety of organic farms of varying scales. I also have experience in food policy, as a steering committee member of the Calgary Food Policy Council. I believe urban agriculture is a realizable pathway to sustainability that can function in the current vacuum of political leadership. As such, I have decided to focus on learning and applying urban agriculture to achieve this sustainability, as well as promoting the culture of urban agriculture in the City of Ottawa. I am an avid environmentalist and try to live with a minimal footprint, meaning extremely low energy and water consumption, and almost no waste production. My goal is to develop a near-perfectly sustainable food system at a backyard scale, relying on nutrients that come from on-site composting, continuously building the quality of the soil without any additional inputs. I would also hope irrigate entirely from rainwater.

I'm a public servant who loves to garden! I don't have a yard, though, so am confined to my fire-escape pots and indoor worm compost. Yay!

I'm a 25 year old woman with a desire to grow my own herb garden and potentially expand from there. My parents grow their own tomatoes and cuccumbers when i was little, and that has always stuck ith me. Their garden vegetables were always so much fresher and richer in flavour than anything from the grocery store. I always believe in buying and/or growing local, and minizing the travel distance of food and other products; every little bit counts, and what better way to do my part, eat healthier foods and get to learn about gardening than by playing in the dirt!

I love gardening and all things green, but I'm quite new at it. I would be available some weekends this Summer to come and help out...let me know if you need a couple of extra helping hands :D
